Two Wheels: Brooklyn By Bike
Some neighborhoods are best experienced on a bike. That’s why we’re introducing a new column for those who yell “bike lane!” by default and spend spare time on the road. We’re putting our “fixies” and street smarts to the test in the bike paths of our favorite cities. The Two Wheels bike tours will suggest half-day trips, on which the routes are comprehensive, the pit stops brief and the sites quintessential to the featured destination.
We’re starting with Brooklyn, New York, which GQ recently christened the “coolest city on the planet.” We’re exploring five of its distinct neighborhoods — Williamsburg, Vinegar Hill, Dumbo, Carroll Gardens and Park Slope — interlinked by bike lanes and riverside paths that present some of the best views of New York City.
