BRAND SPANKING NEW: Tierra Patagonia, Chile
An oasis of luxury in the pristine wilderness of Torres del Pain National Park, Hotel Tierra Patagonia is a brand spanking new property that melts into the scenery of the majestic Andes Mountains.
This brand new property is inspired by the shapes and formed by the Patagonian wind, and slats of local “lenga” wood covering the building liken it to a fossil.
These sketches from architect, Cazu Zegers, show off some of the early inspiration behind the new Tierra Patagonia. “We take inspiration on ecotourism, as an experience within nature. As we know, contemporary men are not suited to live outdoors without protection. Hence, this building should be like a second skin, sensitive and responsive, enabling the guests to experience the strength and mystic beauty of this place.”
The hotel is located at the entrance of “Torres del Paine” National Park, on the shore of Sarmiento Lake, one of the limits of the National Park. The water acts as a supporting plane for the magnificent Paine massif. This magnificence makes us think of extended project that should dialogue with the vast territory.
